John McCain: The ends justifies the means

So what's new? A Republican who doesn't believe in the Constitutional Right to Free Speech? Dime a dozen you say? But this is John McCain the Republican darling and Heir To The Throne. The former Vietnam POW and gosh-darned real life HERO, who has sworn every six years to "protect and defend the Constitution." Apparently HE doesn't even believe in the 1st Amendment. As he said to a caller on Imus:

"I would rather have a clean government than one where quote First Amendment rights are being respected, that has become corrupt. If I had my choice, I'd rather have the clean government."

Note that shortly after that statement he says that
I'd campaign with Rick Santorum too.
Yeah. That's encouraging. Who does John McCain think he's kidding?

Hmmm, so his 'ideal' of 'clean government' overrides his commitment to uphold the Constitution? McCain talks a good talk about reform, but the problem is he's willing to trade fundamental rights to change our nation into his idealistic image of what he calls a "clean government". This guy's a zealot and an idealist who not only has no grasp of the Conservative Culture of Corruption but he also has no appreciation for what makes this country great. Toss out the 1st Amendment? Sure, the ends justifies the means. Or else he's a phoney, corrupt politician himself.

Oh yeah, I guess either way that DOES make him just like every other Republican.
